Reporting an Auto Accident

Below are suggestions on how to more effectively report a traffic accident or incident to the authorities.

What to say:

1. Report the exact LOCATION: give cross streets if possible. If a freeway, give a mile marker or distance and direction from crossroad or major landmark.
2. Report INJURIES: ambulance required? Is anyone pinned inside a vehicle?
3. Roadway CONDITIONS: If blocked, can vehicles be moved? Spillage? Fuel or load? Be aware of HAZARDOUS materials if a tanker is involved.
